Introduction to Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)

Datum: 14.03.2017 (13:00 h) - 15.03.2017 (18:00 h)
Ort: UR, CH 13.2.13

Dynamic and static light scattering (DLS and SLS) are versatile experimental tools for structural investigations of a great variety of solutions and liquids (e.g. dispersions, micellar solutions, (micro)-emulsions, etc.). DLS, for example, provides a cheap and fast measurement possibility for the determination of particle size distributions over a wide range, beginning with a few nm up to several µm. In order to get insight to this measurement technique, this method course comprises basic instructions to general theoretical aspects, the measurement technique, sample preparation, the measurement procedure and data analysis, which are all required for successful DLS and SLS measurements.
